Young Artists’ Piano Recital

The Austral Salon of Music is delighted to present two of Australia’s most outstanding young pianists in an afternoon of concerto performances with the Mozart Festival Chamber Players led by Rita Liao.

Jacqueline Wang
Chopin – Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21

Eleven-year-old Jacqueline Wang studies with Professor Glenn Riddle at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and is a music scholarship recipient at Presbyterian Ladies’ College. Recently Jacqueline was invited to compete in the Grand Piano Competition in Moscow. She has performed as concerto soloist with orchestras in Australia, Italy, Indonesia and Russia, and has received major prizes at international competitions throughout Europe and Asia. Jacqueline was awarded the Licentiate in Music Australia (LMusA) with Distinction at just nine years of age and is widely recognised for her exceptional musical maturity, expressive artistry and virtuosity.

Caitlin Au
Mozart – Piano Concerto No. 13 in C major, K.415

Twelve-year-old Caitlin Au also studies with Professor Glenn Riddle at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and is a music scholar at Lauriston Girls’ School. She has won major prizes in Australia and internationally, including First Prize at the Australian National Junior Piano Competition (“The Little Lev”), together with awards in Poland, Vietnam and Japan. Caitlin was recently awarded the Licentiate in Music Australia (LMusA) with Distinction, an exceptional achievement at her age. Alongside piano, Caitlin enjoys playing the violin and is a member of MSE (Melbourne String Ensemble). 

Jacqueline and Caitlin will perform with the Mozart Festival Chamber Players – an outstanding young string quartet led by Rita Liao.
