Sarvenaz Monfaredi Soprano with Berta Brozgul Piano
Sarvenaz Monfaredi is a classically trained soprano and independent musician. She graduated from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with a degree in Classical Vocal Performance, under the mentorship of Anna Connolly. Her vocal development has been enriched by lessons with distinguished opera singers Joseph Ward in Brisbane and Stefano Anselmi in Italy along with participation in numerous masterclasses, including those led by esteemed artists David Kram and Stefano Iannone in 2024.
Sarvenaz has performed in numerous recitals, showcasing a repertoire that spans sacred music, art songs and lieder, and operatic arias. Her recent performances include appearances on concert series programme hosted by St. Paul’s Cathedral, German Lutheran's Church, the Music Matinee and All Saints’ St Kilda. She has a deep passion for Baroque and Classical repertoire, frequently presenting works from these periods in her performances.
In addition to her career as a performer, Sarvenaz is a dedicated piano teacher, vocal and choir coach, committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
Berta Brozgul completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, with highest honours. She has received many prizes in Australia as well as overseas, and was the fourth place winner in the prestigious Lev Vlassenko piano competition in Brisbane, in 2015.
Berta was also awarded the Queensland Symphony Orchestra vote for the best concerto performance of the evening, performing Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto. During her studies at the Australian National Academy of music from 2016 to 2018, she was awarded the prize for the most outstanding performance in a solo recital, as well as the Ursula Hoff prize for outstanding performance of a work by Mozart.
Berta is an active collaborative artist as well as a soloist, and has performed alongside numerous international artists and ensembles. In 2023, she made her debut with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, performing Bartók’s piano concerto no 3. As of 2024, she has joined the Associate Faculty at the Australian National Academy of Music."
