CEDAR QUARTET

The Cedar Quartet is a Melbourne/Naarm-based ensemble formed by violinists Sara Barbagallo and Jessica Leigh, violist Edmund Mantelli, and cellist Sarah Wang. Brought together through their studies at the Melbourne and Queensland Conservatoriums, the quartet is united by a shared passion for collaborative music-making and thoughtful, engaging performance.

Both individually and in various chamber pairings, the members have participated in an extensive range of masterclasses with internationally renowned artists and pedagogues, including the Australian String Quartet, Ensemble Q, Flinders Quartet, members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and others.

Their collective experience spans performances across interstate and overseas, with appearances at the Mimir Chamber Music Festival, Peninsula Summer Music Festival, Tyalgum Festival, Australian Youth Orchestra Chamber Players, and more. Together, the Cedar Quartet is committed to expressive ensemble playing and is excited to continue developing its artistic identity.

They are looking forward to attending the Australian Festival of Chamber Music held in Cairns in July where they will take masterclasses from world renowned artists.
