“A Medley of Lullabies”

Alexandra Mathew and Hugh Fullarton’s beautiful Lullaby program includes songs by Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, de Falla, Gurney and Peggy Glanville-Hicks as well as Chopin’s Nocturne in D-flat Major.

2018 was a busy year for Alexandra who performed with the Melbourne Pops Orchestra in BBC Planet Earth II at the Melbourne Convention Centre; as alto soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Wangaratta Cathedral; as soloist in Handel’s La Lucrezia cantata at Peninsula Summer Music Festival and in Ola Gjeilo’s Dreamweaver with Chime Choir. As part of Trio Lorelei she also performed at the Montsalvat Recital Series.

Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, and has completed studies in Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music, London.

Her awards include the Melbourne Bach Choir Scholarship in 2016, an Opus 50 Charitable Trust scholarship in 2010-2012, and Prize-winner in the Diamond Valley Eisteddfod and the Warragul Eisteddfod.

Hugh Fullarton, Australian organist, pianist, conductor, composer, and improviser has established a significant reputation for his dynamic performances, compositions, and fluency across diverse musical genres.

In his current role of Organist and Master of the Choristers at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Wangaratta, his high-level directing, conducting, soloist and accompanying skills, has elevated this regional cathedral music program to amongst the finest of its type nationally.
